Product Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Caterpillar 2481394 fuel injector used for?
A: The 2481394 is a single fuel injector used in the Caterpillar C-13 engine (serial prefix BXS). The fuel injector precisely meters and atomizes diesel fuel into the combustion chamber, directly affecting power output, fuel economy, and emissions compliance.
How do I know if my C-13 fuel injector is failing?
A: Common signs of a failing injector include: rough idling or misfires, increased fuel consumption, black smoke from the exhaust, hard starting, loss of power, and engine fault codes related to injector performance. Address injector issues promptly to avoid engine damage.
Is this injector compatible with all C-13 engines?
A: The 2481394 is specifically listed for Caterpillar C-13 engines with serial prefix BXS. Always verify the serial number prefix of your engine before ordering. If you are unsure, reach out to Propel Parts ??? our team will be happy to verify fitment for you.
Is this a premium aftermarket or remanufactured injector?
A: This is a high-quality aftermarket fuel injector designed to meet or exceed OEM specifications for fuel delivery, spray pattern, and durability. When replacing, choose high-quality aftermarket parts that meet or exceed OEM expectations for reliable performance.
Browse our complete selection of fuel system parts for compatible nozzles, pumps, and accessories for your C-13 engine.
Can I replace a single injector, or do I need to replace all of them?
A: It is possible to replace a single faulty injector. However, if the engine has high hours or multiple injectors are showing symptoms, replacing them as a set may reduce future downtime. Consult your Caterpillar service manual or a diesel technician for guidance.
Does the 2481394 injector require calibration after installation?
A: Yes. Caterpillar C-13 injectors typically require programming and calibration using Caterpillar ET (Electronic Technician) software after replacement to ensure proper fuel delivery and engine balance. This step should not be skipped.
What warranty is included with this fuel injector?
A: All Propel Parts products include a 12-month warranty against manufacturing and material defects from the original invoice date. Same-day shipping is available for weekday orders placed before 3pm ET.
